Our Story

Launched in 2006 by a group of enthusiastic members of the BMW Car Club of NZ, the idea was to organise and promote a series that was relatively low in cost and would result in fast, action-packed door-to-door racing.

With a mandate to have vehicles running with close performance similarities, that were fun to drive and remained as close to standard configuration as possible, the Open & E30 Classes were born.

Nearly two decades later, we’re proud to be celebrating our 20th season in 2025, continuing the tradition of fast, action-packed, door-to-door racing.

Meet the Team

The Series is proudly run by a dedicated team of volunteers, most of whom compete within the Series themselves. Their passion for motorsport—both on and off the track—supports the Series and helps it grow each season. You can see who the committee members are below, listed with their roles.
