Very proud to announce that I am the recipient of the 2026 BMW Race Driver Series Scholarship ‼️‼️

The day was not without its tribulations - I was up against some of the toughest competition in the game, with Tomas Climo (2nd) and Jacob Lucas (3rd) putting excellent drives on display as well as all the other applicants.

We began the day with an introduction from John as well as familiarisation laps in our own cars to get a feel for the track - I was lucky enough to be in the Mazda RX8 of May-Lee Hotter, which was a fun start to the day.

Following this, we began our first evaluation drives - the track was still drying, and unfortunately due to a red flag on track my session was cut short after warming up the car. With only 3/4 of a lap to showcase my skills to Tim Edgell I made my way efficiently from pit exit to pit entry, taking on every ounce of feedback he had to offer.

After some oversized lunchtime cookies with Greg Murphy the top 10 were announced, and we were through. Next up was my interview, and I did my best to keep the nerves at bay - people often forget that this component can be just as tricky as the driving!

Next, I left the pitlane in the passenger seat next to Ray Williams as he gave vital coaching and insights.

To finish, it was now my turn to impress Tim for the last time - you can bet I was going to make the most of it! Putting the power down on a now dry track, I was giving it everything I could and bypassing worn synchros with some good old fashioned heel and toe (and intuition). The car felt great and above all I had a blast.
