It’s that time of year to dust off the cobwebs from your race car, or test out your new one, at our annual BMW Race Driver Series Pre-Season Shakedown Day.
Held in conjunction with our Scholarship Day, this event gives members the chance to get back on track while also allowing The Motorsport Club to carry out essential, low-pressure training in a live environment.
Testing will be run in rotating 20-minute sessions, organised into speed brackets based on registrations received.
Driver briefing will be held at 8:15am, with testing scheduled to run from 8:50am through to 4:00pm.
Both drivers and passengers must wear a minimum of a single-layer fire-retardant race suit, helmet, FHR, fire-retardant shoes, and fire-retardant gloves.
No gear hire will be available on the day, as the small supply available has been reserved for Scholarship Applicants.
Testers are encouraged to provide passenger rides to our Scholarship Applicants throughout the day.
Drivers must ensure passengers are briefed on basic safety measures before the ride.
Vehicles taking passengers require a basic Safety Audit before the first ride. This informal audit will not be recorded in log books and serves as training for new scrutineers.
Participation is by application only. The BMW Race Driver Series reserves the right to decline any application.
Competitors must have previously competed in the Series or be scheduled to compete in the upcoming season.
